Overseas Nursing: Ireland

If you are planning for an IRELAND NURSING REGISTRATIONS FOR OVERSEAS NURSES, then you have to get registered with the NURSING AND MIDWIFERY BOARD OF IRELAND (NMBI). It is illegal to practice nursing in Ireland without NMBI registration. NMBI is the legal organization that registers overseas nurses.

What Is The Eligibility Criteria?

The minimal eligibility for the post of nurse or midwife in Ireland are:

QUALIFICATION:  GNM/ B.Sc./ Post B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Nursing.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1 year as a Registered Nurse in last five years.

ENGLISH  LANGUAGE  REQUIREMENTS :

IELTS: Overall Grade: 7 (with at least a 7 in speaking and writing and at least a 6.5 in reading and listening) 

OET: Overall: B (C+ for any one module and B for the other three modules )

Applying for NMBI Registration as a NURSE:

Once you have cleared the eligibility criteria, you can apply for registration with the NMBI. Following are the required steps for registration :

1.   Overseas Application Request Form:
   • In this process, TRF [Test Report Form ] of IELTS will be verified by NMBI.
   • You will need to pay the Overseas Registration Application Fee.
2.  The Overseas Registration Application Packs:
   • After verifying the Overseas Application Request Form, they will provide an Overseas Registration Application Packs with an Application Reference Number.
   • All required information regarding registration will be shared through Application Packs.
3. Required authorized Forms [by the relevant Authorities]:
   • The  Application  Pack Forms will be completed by the relevant authorities of your country.
   • Authorities will return the documents directly to the NMBI.
4. Assessment of your Application:
   • After this process, NMBI will send you a decision letter.
5. The Decision Letter: After the Assessment process, there  are four  possible outcomes :
   • Approval of registration.
   • Following documents are required for registration.
   • Refusal of application.
   • Before you can be registered, you have to complete some tests, just like an aptitude test and an adaptation period.
